24th Year Wedding Anniversary @ Road Tour - Trip III

Aishah & I ended our Trip III on 28 July 2010 at exactly 9.00 PM after travelling about 731 km from Batu Pahat. The odometer read at 34488 km when we reached our final stop at Bukit Keluang Beach Resort, Besut, Terengganu.

We started our journey from Kuantan at 10.30 AM with a resolution that we would drive along the coastal road towards Terengganu/Kelantan.

Our journey however was started with a very sad news as Aishah received a call telling her that Roslilawati had passed away that 28th morning. Innalillah & al Fatihah for Allahyarham Roslilawati. Aishah was very sad indeed with a "consolation" of at least she managed to visit Ros the previous day at Pantai Hospital, Batu Pahat.

Back to the journey to Terengganu ... Terengganu would be synonym to "Nasi Dagang", "Sata", "Keropok Lekor", the long white sandy beautiful beaches and of course the "green trademark" Masjid Rusila, Rusila (Marang), Terengganu. Alhamdulillah except for the "Nasi Dagang", both of us managed to enjoy the good delicacies of Terengganu and enjoying the panoramic beaches.

Driving along Cherating then towards Chukai/Kemaman really kept us in awe with the beautiful scenery of the long white sandy beaches.

The places which we "landed" ourselves into were Pantai Marina/Telaga Simpul, Kemaman. That was about noon @ 12.12 PM and it was on a very hot but windy afternoon. Telaga Simpul really drove out my curiosity of how it got its name but there was no telling on this except that it was recorded by Abdullah Munshi in his "diary" during his voyage (with Raffles I supposed)centuries ago ...

It was time for "Rest, Relax & Recreation" as the motto at the entrance signage of Pantai Kemasik, Kemaman states. We stopped by the beach eating - obviously "Sata" & "lemang" with ABC & "air kelapa muda"... Our next stop before Bukit Keluang Resort was Pantai Rekreasi Teluk Bidara.

Along the journey what struck me most was the people - be it young or old - are leading a very simple life with no pretentious feeling at anything/anybody. At Pantai Rekreasi Teluk Bidara, there were kids - all boys - fishing and having a good time swimming -with such "freedom" untied to the complexities of life.

Just after Kemaman we stopped by a river where a group of kids having a good time playing by the river bank - one of them was happily swinging using a rope tied from a tree by the jetty .... They were all a bit introvert, shy but polite... I took their photos together with Aishah - all laughing & smiling radiantly.

As I am posting this entry, I could not help but realising that how precious life is - the priceless value of friendship & relationship.. Perhaps all this while I may have take things for granted ... Too much emphasised on work without spending enough quality time with Aishah & the kids...

Most important of all the beautiful creations of Allah and the fact that I do sometimes or rather most of the time failed to value them .....

Till we meet again in the next posting ....
